Mark Speno

Mark has been a private lender since 1993, when he became vice president of one of the largest private money lenders in the Pacific Northwest and co-founded its portfolio of income funds. He helped grow that company into one of the nation’s largest, relocated with his family to Scottsdale to expand its operations, and sold his business interests in 2008. He now works with Kenwood as an underwriter and investor, with his own capital in the loans he underwrites.

Mark is a founding board member of the Arizona Private Lender Association, where he chairs its subcommittees on regulatory compliance and unlicensed lending. He has appeared as a featured panelist before the Turnaround Management Association on the Dodd-Frank Act and its effects on banking and lending.

Before entering private lending, Mark was a U.S. Naval Officer. He graduated from Washington State University in 1982 with a BA in Business Administration.
