Randy Persson

Randy founded Kenwood Mortgage in 1992 and has run it as a family company ever since. Across his career he has originated, brokered, or invested in more than $300 million of commercial and residential real estate loans.

He came to lending with an unusual depth of preparation. He began as a real estate loan analyst at the United Bank of Denver while attending the University of Denver College of Law at night. After law school he spent two years with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Denver and San Diego, specializing in real estate partnership accounting and valuation. In 1978 he joined Amsted Associates in Beverly Hills, where for more than twenty years he syndicated, developed, financed, and managed a commercial real estate portfolio that grew past $220 million in asset value.

In 2000 his wife Rose joined him at Kenwood, and the two remain active, full-time owners and lenders. Randy is a licensed Arizona Mortgage Broker, a licensed Arizona Real Estate Broker, a licensed North Dakota attorney, and a Life Alumni of Arizona State University.

Outside the office he has served on the boards of the Beverly Hills/Brentwood Red Cross, the Scottsdale Jewish Community Center, and Camp Not-A-Wheeze, a week-long camp in Heber where children learn from medical professionals how to manage their asthma. He is a published author writing children’s chapter books. His A Mystery of Nature Series is sold on Amazon and worldwide.
