Two sets of plans stamped for permit. A farmhouse and a barn. Land in Camp Verde, paid off, and a builder who was going to run the job himself.

What he did not have was a lender who would fund it the way a build actually runs.

Most construction lenders pay you back after the phase is done. That means the builder floats the concrete, the lumber package, the framing crew, and waits. On a two-structure job that float adds up fast.

The money moved before the crews did.

Kenwood funded it the other way. A $700,000 loan, structured under Fund Forward. Each draw advanced before the phase began. The slab money was there when the pump truck rolled up. The framing money was there when the package was ordered. A local inspector confirmed progress between phases, and the draw schedule followed the builder’s own sequence.

The land counted. Because he owned the 1.67 acres free and clear, his dirt was his equity. His cash stayed in his business.

By July the farmhouse and barn were framed and sheathed. By August the windows were in and the wrap was on, with the exterior finishes next. The build is still moving, and every draw keeps landing before the phase it pays for.

One lender, one loan, two buildings, no phase floated out of pocket.
